20% of all bank transactions are made online - 28/05/2010

The number of Brazilian internet banking increased 17,7% in 2009 when compared to 2008. ATM's continue to be the main bank transaction medium, with over one third of all 47 billion transactions made in 2009.

In second place is internet banking with 20% of all transactions. Brazil has a total of 35 million internet banking account.

According to an article published by IstoÉ Dinheiro (a Brazilian economy magazine), the threats to virtual security have been rising together with the number of internet accounts and transactions.

Brazil is the most targeted country for attacks, followed by China, Spain and Russia, according to the data presented on the article.
