The Air New Zealand case - 05/04/2010

The new design of some Air New Zealand airplanes is not only nice for passengers to see but also an interesting case to inspire us, professionals of User Experience.

The company presented the Skycouch concept, which is especially catching for passengers of economy class. The new interior design of the airplanes allows those passengers to lay down on their seats.

A few weeks ago, during a full day of presentations of UX professionals from User Experience Alliance, in Auckland, the team of Optimal Usability awed the crowd by showing the innovative work they’ve done for Air New Zealand.

Thanks to their innovative user research approach. and understanding of what traveling customers desire, the SkyCouch design will be implemented in the airplanes’ economy class sections beginning in April 2011.

To see the details about the SkyCouch project you can visit the project web site and you can also read the news published by a New Zealand newspaper.
