Brazil is the biggest country of the region, with 8,5 million square kilometers, and is also the most populated, with 187 million inhabitants.
Brazil is the only country in LA that speaks Portuguese, surrounded by Spanish speaking countries.

Internet
Latin Americans are coming online in huge numbers. The major markets are Brazil and Mexico. A study by Everis and the IESE Business School (2008) found that one in ten global internet users are from Latin America, and half of these are from Brazil.
James Belcher, eMarketer Senior Analyst and author of the report "Latin America Online" (2006), says that "Internet users in Latin America tend to be younger than the population as a whole, and they are more likely from middle or upper socioeconomic groups, making them desirable for online targeting."
Brazilians Love the internet: we spend on average 26 hours online per month, making Brazilians the people who spend the longest time on the internet (more than British, French, American, Australian and Japanese). The total number of internet users in Brazil has reached 65 million (August 2009).
Broadband adoption in Latin America is growing beyond expectations. Brazil, IDC study from Cisco predicts that the country will have 15 million broadband subscribers in 2010. Between 2005 and 2007 the number of broadband subscribers doubled to 8 million. Brazil now has 11 million broadband subscribers (Teleco, 2009).
